Judge: JANETTE BARHAM
FRENCH BULLDOG C OF ENG, 17/04/11
BITCHES - It was a pleasure to meet the President of Club De Bouledogue
Francais, Madam Elyse Waget. I believe it is almost 50 years since a French
President has visited a British French Bulldog show.
I have to say most of the Frenchies were well groomed but there were a few who
would have benefited from a bath. If nails are trimmed weekly, it does aid the
appearance of the foot. That said I very much enjoyed judging the Frenchies.
MP I Mines & Ashard's Rycolah Motarama Girl, pretty b/m fawn, dark eyes, good
forehead & skull, well developed cheeks. Could use ears to better advantage,
front not her fortune. Well ribbed & shapely; 2 Aston's Wildax Stella McCartney,
all of a piece light brindle, good stop with wrinkling to skull, firm parallel
ears. Needs to pad out under eyes which could be darker. Good depth of chest,
straight front, firm rearend; 3 Davis' Roberta's Dream Girl Rowendale. P I
Albutt's Crashkon Vera Wang, firm bodied b/m fawn, head coming along well,
nicely wrinkled skull topped by parallel facing ears of good shape, strong arch
to neck leads smoothly into shoulders, ample bone, strong pasterns with well
knuckled feet & gently reached topline. BP; 2 Ash's Muggshots Baby Doll
Zandaplatz, attractive fawn, not as forward as I.
Round dark eye, has all essentials, good front, small compact feet, cobby, 3
Keates' Nokomis Misty Morning. J I Swatteridge's Skybull Marie Antoinette
Xentique, richly brindled pied, good head with ear carriage to match, good front
with tight feet. Not the smallest but well put together. Shows well, sound gait;
2 Partridge's Abbeymill Hi Society, uses ears, good stop with round well set
eyes, light brindle, good jacket, well ribbed up, wide front, good legs & feet,
good width of ribcage viewed from above, positive on the move; 3 Girling's
Rocheposay Snowbat at Ageancourt Y Two attractive young ladies. Not easy
decision between I & 2, they are very obviously sisters. I Chambers' Glenlee
Indian Spirit at Luvum, as I see it. I went with the better mover, both are b/m
fawns & good for size, nicely ribbed with good skulls & wrinkling, well laid
back foreface. Bit overdone in flews. Nicely rounded toplines. Preferred neck
set of 2 Embly's Glenlee Sacred Spirit; 3 Small's Shoebridge Lavilledieu at
Merimna. PC I Patience's Portentia Perchance To Dream, classically marked double
hooded pied, dark eyed, good skull, ears placed well, good front of width &
depth, strong pasterns, neat feet compact & small, went around well; 2 S Marie
Antoinette Xentique; 3 Edwards' Fayeloui Blanche. ML I Bootle & Harrison's Tutu
Much at Foleyfarm, golden brindle, large head with feminine expression, a
youngster with good infill under expressive eyes, nicely wrinkled flattish
skull, ears broad & tapering to rounded tip, arched neck, good withers & firm
pear shaped body; 2 Partridge's Haley V Marvers Fortuna for Abbeymill, pale fawn
sporting very dark mask, eyes also dark & round, very good arched neck, roached
topline; 3 Mavro-Michaelis' Shoebridge Vouvray. L I Conway'sAnashell
Allofapuzzal. well brindled double hooded pied, markings on heavy side, but
still within Standard. Excellent foreface of width with good layback & wide
underjaw, correct stop, round eyes set in line with
stop, bat ears with rounded apex set correctly & used well with good width
between, powerful arch to neck flowing into shoulders of good placement, deep
chest of good width, excellent bone with sound pasterns, neat manicured feet,
movement excellent affording drive from rear, solid bitch, never put foot wrong.
CC & RBIS; 2 Quinn's Nirojo Imperial Rose, finer type with short smooth brindled
jacket Good head, ears placed & held well, nicely arched neck, straight front.
Good width but would prefer more depth to chest. Cobby body; 3 Martin's Skybull
Blanche D'Castile. O I Albutt's Kingfriend Miss Chanel of Crashkon, square
headed with very good width to underjaw, nicely laid back foreface, round eye
with infill below, good dome to forehead with wrinkled skull, arched neck, good
shoulder lay, straight front with enough bone, good feet. RCC; 2 Ash's Crindles
Hot Gossip at Fabelhaft, very dark brindle. Feet could be smaller. Well boned,
square head with good lay back, defined cushioned muzzle. Not the smallest. Went
well; 3 Conway & Chapman's Ch Norcairn Dark Angel. V I Harrison's Tommyville
Thora Thorndyke, 10 years, b/m fawn with good head shape, correct stop & skull.
Could hold ears a little better but this is being very picky. Strongly arched
neck, roached back, moved with purpose with good reach in front, tight feet &
well boned legs, good hocks, maintaining drive from rear, has not gone 'cow
like' with concaved angles as many older Frenchies can, I hope it's understood
what is meant by term 'cow like'. Pied I P Perchance To Dream; 2 Brown's
Bespokebully Afriel Lolly, 3 Betts' Laidstom Molski Elaindre. Fawn A. Brindle I
Mavro-Michaelis' Grandesigns Sweetheart Shoebridge, dark brindled gleaming
coated, square head, good layback, arched neck cobby body, wide enough front,
well ribbed with slightly arched topline; 2 Worrell's Nirojo Lilac Frost 3
Tearle's Kingrock Illusion of Terlingfair.
