History |
The Club |
|
Founded in 1902 by a small group of enthusiasts dedicated to the
preservation, promotion, and well being of the breed, more than
100 years later those aims remain unchanged. Comical, clever,
mischievous, the list of adjectives describing our beloved
French Bulldogs is long and varied. We hope that the actions of
our club can help all of those interested in this breed to be
better informed. Please follow this link by clicking
here to read a welcome letter from
our President, Mrs. Vivien Watkins. |
The Club is administered by a Committee of twelve Members, elected by postal ballot of the Membership and serving for a term of three years, four of the Committee being subject to election annually, either by standing for re-election or retirement. The Committee elects its own Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Honorary Treasurer. It is served by an Honorary Secretary appointed by the Committee. The President, too, is elected by postal ballot and serves for three years on the same basis as the Committee Members. |

Kennel Club Code of Ethics |
|
The
French Bulldog Club of England has been advised that, at
its meeting on 15th February 2011, the General Committee
reviewed the Kennel Club Code of Ethics, as per Kennel
Club Regulation C2.e. The following amendment to Clause
2 of the Code has been made: ‘Will agree without
reservation that any veterinary surgeon who performs an
operation on any of their dogs which alters the natural
conformation of the animal, or who carries out a
caesarean section on a bitch, may report such operations
to the Kennel Club’. All Kennel Club registered
Breed Clubs are required to adopt the Kennel Club Code
of Ethics, in accordance with the above Regulation and
we have been requested that the amendment be
incorporated into the Club’s
version of the COE. |
