.Breed Standard proposed changes to take effect from 1st August 2015
COLOUR: The only correct colours are: Brindle; Fawn; Pied;
Brindle – Colour pattern caused by a mixture of black hairs and fawn hairs. White markings permitted provided that brindle predominates. Eye rims, eyelashes and lips black.
Fawn – Clear, self-coloured fawn with or without a black mask. White markings permitted, provided that fawn predominates. Cream and red shades less desirable. Eye rims, eyelashes and lips black. Pied – Brindle Pied: White predominates with brindle patches. (The brindle as defined above). Fawn Pied: White predominates with fawn patches. Whites are classified with pieds for show purposes. In pieds, eye rims, eyelashes and lips should preferably be black. Any white in the above colours should be clear with no ticking or spots.
All other colours highly undesirable, including solid black, black and white, black and tan, mouse, grey/blue, liver/chocolate and all patterns of these colours

The Kennel Club has announced that as from the 1st January 2014 French Bulldogs will be in Stud Book Band D.
As you may be aware, the Stud Book band for each breed of dog is calculated on the average number of entries for that breed over the preceding years. The number of French Bulldogs being shown has increased, and due to this increase the Kennel Club has moved them from Band C to Band D. This means that 1st, 2nd, and now 3rd place in Open Class and Ist place in Limit Class at a Ch show will qualify for a Stud Book Number

Mrs Penny Rankine-Parsons was elected President of the FBCE. Having first served as a member of the Committee and then the Office of Hon Secretary, she now enters her 20th year of continuous service to the Club
Mr Malcolm Trevis retires as Chairman of the Committee , a position he held for almost 10 years. He remains a member of the committee.
Mrs Lucy Bonsall and Mr Malcolm Trevis were appointed Hon Vice Presidents in recognition of their dedication and long service to the FBCE.
